For very beginners, you can use words to show division of the beat. Later, there is another video showing how to do this using counts.
This video covers only 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4. Demonstrates rhythm without notes, notes without rhythm, and the combination of the two, to show the importance of the time signature.
The right way to keep track of what you're playing is with counts. So, let's dispense with those "huckleberry ice cream pies" and do this the universally accepted way by counting.

This play-along includes Bb Instruments, Violin and Song Flute with piano accompaniment. Watch out for a time change in the middle of the piece! This is a chance for violins and song flutes to play along with the band and still be heard!
This computer-generated play-along is for beginning Bb instruments and piano. I used computer generation in order to play all the parts, so that students can hear their part better.
This is the piano part only. The melody is in the bass, making it a little more difficult for students to hear their part. Good for them to practice with when they are more independent.
Got any beginning piano players who want to play in band concerts? Here is an easy holiday song for them! English lyrics are available in our free sheet music downloads if you want to add choir. There is also a part for song flutes.
